Two computers running the Microsoft Windows® 2000 Server operating system.
SQL Server 2000 on the database server computer. For this example, the SQL Server service is assumed to be running as Local System. If the certificate is in the Local Machine store, SSL should work no matter which account SQL runs under.
Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) 2.6 or later, or SQL Server 2000 client connectivity libraries on the client computer.
This example requires access to Microsoft Certificate Services running on Windows 2000 to allow the creation of server authentication certificates; however, this is not a requirement.
